Aishish Dipankar, the saint and preacher of Buddhist religion, was born in the village of Bajrangini of Munshiganj sadar upazila during the rule of the Pala dynasty. He was born in 980. In the village of Bajrangini, there are ruins of his house. In memory of him, a monument has been set up in this village. In his childhood, his name was 'Chandragaura'. At the age of 19, his name was 'Dipankar Shrishnan'. During his lifetime, he taught in Sompur Bihar, one of the largest bihar of the world. Sompur Bihar is located in Paharpur of Naogaon, a district of Bangladesh, now known as Paharpur Bihar. When Atish Dipankar arrived in Tibb in 1041, he was honored by Tibet's Raj Darbar and given him the title of 'Atish'. Atish means the 'Greatest Lord'. At the age of 73, at the Nathong Temple in Tibet's capital of Lhasa, in the year 1054, the great pride of Bangladesh went down to Atish Dipankar. To keep his memory alive, after his death, a monument was built on his mithy's ash which was collected from China, at his home village in Bajrangeini village. His house is known as 'Pandit Vita'. Even today, many countries of northern Asia, including China and Mongolia, are considered by Atish Dipankar as the 'second Buddha'. He was a physician, astrologer, planner, engineering, economist, poet, philosopher and theologian.

        

Atish Dipankar Pandit Bhita and Auditorium are located in Bajrangini village of Bajrangini union of Munshiganj sadar upazila. From Dhaka to Bus or directly on their own vehicles or to Munshiganj. You can go to Bajrangini village on local transport from Munshiganj.
